To begin with, teachers today receive less respect from students than those in the past because nowadays teachers only focus on making their students to get a high score on academic courses. Academic courses are the most important thing for students because good grades will help them get into good universities and eventually get great jobs. Also, school and teacher only focus on making their students to get a high academic score since it determines reputation of the school and teacher, and even, there are given incentive according the score of students. For these reasons, teacher only focus on scores of students, rather than building a meaningful relationship with their students. In this situation, students tend to not respect their teacher since their teacher judge them regarding on their score. For example, estimates say that students today do not respect their teacher than those past.

In addition, since nowadays the right of students is improving and regarded as the number-one priority in the school while the right of teacher is considered insignificant, teachers today receive less respect from students than those in the past. These days, student tend to think that the right of students is more important than the right of teachers and they always have to be valued whatever they do. Thus, teacher cannot control the students and they are sometimes accused by the parents of their students for guiding their students in the right way. In this situation, how can students respect their teachers? Therefore, teachers today receive less respect from students than those in the past. For instance, when I was in high school, students thought that their right is the only important thing and they do not have to respect their teachers.
