Teachers today receive less respect from students than those in the past.

To begin with, some people say that teacher receive less respect from student because their authorization such as punishment is less than those in the past. However, teacher¡¯s role is changing in modern society. Unlike the past, teacher will be advisor or usher for students. They are able to receive respect from student in different ways. For this reason, it is hard to say that teachers today receive less respect from students than those in the past. For instance, the punishment is illegal in Korea. It is easy to think that teacher cannot control their student because the punishment is main factor that allows teacher to control students. However, today teacher receive respect from students in various way. My brother is a high school student. He has a respectful teacher.

In addition, today teacher receive more respect from students than those in the past because they are a specialist in their subject. There are many subjects compared to the past. For example, students are leaning 12 subjects. This means that teachers should try to be more special in their subjects and teach more detail. Academic courses are the most important thing for students because good grades will help them get into good universities and eventually get great jobs. Students will give teacher who can teach more detail respect. For this reason, teachers teaching more detail compared to the past can receive more respect from students than those in the past.
