The government does not have to cover the Internet fees because it is already accessible to most, if not all, of the citizens. People can access the Internet in public buildings for free. Plus, the government is already overloaded with more important jobs to do. As people have means to access the Internet for free in many places, the government should focus on other diplomatic or political issues.
Citizens would not like to have the government covering the Internet fees because it would increase the taxes they have to pay. Since the government¡¯s budget for public welfare is very limited, the government cannot afford to pay the Internet fees for everyone unless it receives extra taxes. As many citizens would not be happy for the increased taxes, the government should rather maintain the status quo.
