Compared to people majoring in literature, people majoring in science easily find jobs. In these days, the society is focused on developing new technology. The inventions are ,in fact, based on science. By utilizing the knowledge of chemistry,biology, and physics, the industrialization occurred and the society as a whole is now moving onto the new stage of development : the era of automated robots. To be more specific, many multinational companies are now operating in the field of technology as a response to such market opportunities. One of the ways companies gainㅊmarket power is by hiring more intelligent employees. Therefore, they are more likely to employ many students who have degrees in science. On the other hand, for huge companies, there is no use to hire people majoring in literature because they will not be able to contribute to the development of new technology.
Furthermore, with science, people can better prepare for unexpected natural occurrences. Science is mainly about delving into the observations of a certain phenomenon, analyzing the obtained data, and interpreting the data to come up with a relationship between the independent and dependent variables. Through this process, many scientists have identified various relationships. People can utilize these to further prevent themselves from potential dangers in life. To be more specific, when I was young and did not take any science courses, I did not understand how viruses reproduce themselves. However, after taking the intensive biology courses throughout middle school and high school, I was able to fully understand the mechanisms of their reproduction. The knowledge in virus turned out to be helpful when the influenza virus was prevalent all around Korea back in 2013. Because I was aware of how viruses reproduce themselves in a cell and how such infection can be prevented before hand, I eventually became the only one in class to stay healthy during the period.
