7. In order to succeed, it is better to be like others rather than different from everybody else.

- Easier to stand out among people
In the modern days, the society is more competitive than it was before. Therefore, in order to survive from the competition, it is important to stand out to be selected, or elected.
Back in middle school, I used to have a very unique friend. She did not like to compromise to the norms of the society; she avoided doing what all the others do, and essentially did what she wanted to do even if it was different from the others. => This kind of characteristic also helped her to excel others in her field of major. She is currently majoring in medicine in Hong Kong. Even though she is a foreigner in her university, she is working with her professor for his new project. This is mainly because the way she thinks is different from that of others.
- Widens the perspective
Thinking differently widens the perspective which is crucial for the success in contemporary times. Thesedays, multinational companies and even universities are looking for students who are open-minded rather than those with fixed perspective such as stereotypes.
When people strive to become a part of the society, they have to accept the fixed norms of the society. However, because the ideals and ideas are already fixed through the culture and the history of the society, this traps people to think within a small range.
For example, people these days are usually trapped in the idea of “the standard of beauty”, which is a prevalent stereotype.
8. Some people always follow their dreams even if the dreams are ambitious. Some think we should focus on achieving realistic goals. Which do you agree with?

My sister, who now works at a company, has always advised me to spend as much as money on travels when I have time to do so. She said as she grew older, she did not even have the time for travels while travels always gave her a positive motivation to live a life even when she was very stressed out. Just by looking up at the photos from last travels, she was able to come back to a positive state of mind.
Saving money for the future incurs the overall loss in the value of money.
Although some might argue saving money for the future decreases the risk to lose money, saving money in a bank can be dangerous.
The exchange rate and interest rate of saved money varies every day because they are dependent on the value of money. Value of money of money rises and falls depending on the value of money in other countries. By not using money when the exchange rate is low, in other words, when the value of money is high, this incurs the loss.
11. People spend too much money on their pets even though there can be other good ways to spend money.

- my friend, who was the only child in her family, was able to learn a sense of responsibility by raising a dog. Because she was the only one who could take care of her pet, she had to keep her eyes on her dog so that she could feed and wash the pet. One day, she came back home, exhausted from the work. Therefore, she was not able to feed the pet for two days. Later she found out that the immune system of the pet has been weakened, and the pet has been sick for days. From this experience she was able to learn a sense of responsibility

12. When people spend a lot of time watching sports on television or following their favorite team, it has negative effects on their lives.

- When people watch intense sports game, their blood pressure increases. Increase in the blood pressure,in other words, means that the heart is beating fast. However, because the body is not moving, the huge amount of blood pumping out from the heart is only used to extensively stretch the blood vessels.
