People often ask for a help when they are having trouble doing school works. One may ask his or her friends or hire a professional tutor. Both approaches are wise. However, when my friend needs a help with doing school work, I would advise her to get a help from a professional tutor rather than ask me to teach her.
To begin with, professional tutors have a lot of teaching experiences and knowledge that I do not have. Teaching requires not only extensive knowledge but also tutoring skills. Teachers must know how to organize a class efficiently and help students’ comprehension over the subject they are teaching. This can only be done by professional tutors. Although I might have great understanding over a subject, there is no guarantee that I am capable of assisting someone with the understanding. For example, when I was working as a personal English tutor, I had a hard time leading my students. I was confident about my English skill. However, since I had no experiences of teaching someone, it was quite a task helping the students to apprehend. This indicates that getting a help from a professional tutors is much more efficient since they are specialized in teaching.
In addition, it is easy for one to get distracted when studying with his or her friends. Despite the fact that the original intention is to teach and learn, it is highly likely that the student and the teacher will end up getting sidetracked when they are in a close relationship. It may provide a great chance to strengthen the bond, but focusing on studying itself cannot be successfully done. I can be attested to that. When I was teaching my best friend, we often ended up wasting our time chatting. Even though I had a duty to teach my student, it was extremely hard to get my job done since we were the closest friends. At the end of the entire tutoring session, I failed to cover the entire field as I planned. It was such an admirable waste of time. From then on, I never teach my friends. In this sense, getting a profession tutor will help one to fully focus on learning itself.
Professional tutors make good teachers more than I do. No matter how good I am at a certain subject, the lack of teaching skills and ability to focus when my friends are present provide a good reason why hiring a professional tutor is much more effect in intensive studying. I cannot guarantee that my students will fully comprehend over a subject. This is where profession help is needed.
