When I was in high school, I tried hard to win the first place of the speaking competition. Speaking competition is an annual event in my school. In the last competition, I got the second place but my friend won the first place. I envied him and prepared really hard for the next competition. I prepared for about a year to beat him. However, I messed up my speech on the competition day so I missed the first place. This is what I tried really hard by could not accomplish.
