In the lecture, the professor gives two examples of why bats hang upside down.
First, they hang upside down to hide from predators. They hide in the caves to look like a part of the cave since they are active during the daytime.
Second, bats can not fly since they have a weak wings. Therefore, bats can not fly at dead stop. Their hind legs are also small and undeveloped for take off.
Therefore, these are the two examples of why bats hang upside down given in the lecture.
