According to the lecture, Eco Travel is a way of tourism which gains popularity recently. It is also called as responsible travel to natural areas. It plays important roles in protecting the environment.
The first role is that Eco Travel reduces the pollution. For example, when people move place to place, they walk, hike or ride animals like horses or elephants instead of riding bus and cars. They do beneficial things like planting trees.
Secondly, Eco Travel can raise awareness. It can educate the public. Travelers will have respect toward people who live in there or toward the environment. They would know what¡¯s good or bad for the environment. Moreover, they will do various measures to protect the environment. Therefore, future generation can expect places with no human touch.
