주제: Today’s young people are more willing to help others than young people in the past.
The widespread of media encourages today’s young people to be more aware about the people who need help. In modern society, the media is well developed and people can easily access to the information from all around the world. There are many online articles and videos that show the situation of people who live in poor conditions.
Since young people are more exposed to the media than in the past, young people can feel sympathy with others more and their awareness of helping others have increased. This phenomenon encourages young people to be more willing to help others. For example, I often encountered with the video of UNICEF through social networks and television. In the video, it showed how children in Africa were living under the inferior conditions and this made me to sympathise with them. This drew my attention to children in Africa, and I started to support them by donating to the UNICEF regularly. My personal experience shows that how being exposed to the media does encourage young people to be more aware and eventually lead them to help others.
