DIsagree: Advertisement is the main cause of excessive consumption.
First and foremost, people can control themselves from being attracted by advertisements. Having a compelling opinion allows people to prevent themselves from consuming their money. In reality, a majority of people are prone to spend their money because nowadays most of the advertisements are very attractive. For instance, when I was young, I saw an advertisement of toy cars. I wanted to buy those toy cars so much but I suddenly realized that I had much more important things to buy. At this point, I truly realized how important it truly is to have a compelling opinion. As a result, I was so happy that my parents bought me both toy cars and the things that I needed. My example clearly shows that having a compelling opinion not only allows people to prevent themselves from being attracted by advertisements, but also makes them to spend their money more effectively.
