First, when the group members divide the work into different parts, it let students not to learn efficiently about the overall content. Since one is assigned to do limited amount of work, it is hard to learn completely about that topic. For example, when one group is doing a research about animal's fossil, and one person is assigned to do about rabbit's fossil, then that person will only know specifically about that part. However, when one gets to do the project alone, one will have to do every single thing by oneself. It will enable one to learn whole thing about the assigned project. In my view, learning effectively is deeply comprehending the assigned project.
The group work causes the conflict between the students, therefore result in poor quality.
To be specific, in most of the time, project members are decided by teachers. Since their decisions do not reflect students’ thought, it is possible to cause the trouble. Then it can emotionally hurt students and be hard to cooperate. Therefore, it is hard to expect not only the students learn anything effectively but also the quality of assignment.
