The question as to whether universities should make basic science courses to all students has been debated in the field of education. In reality, people has recognized the importance of field of science and has developed science education in schools. Some people might say that all university students should be required to take basic science courses, however, I strongly believe that is a preposterous idea for the following two reasons.
First and foremost, mandatory science classes are waste of time for students. Recently, university students are under great burden of their studies of their fields. Students are already busy enough to follow their own study which they chose. For this reason, it is more beneficial for students to concentrate on studying their own study rather than wasting their time on studying science. For example, when I was in college, I took a basic science class that my university made mandatory to all students. It was totally waste of time taking it because I could not concentrate on neither my major nor the mandatory science class. If I did not take the science class, I would have done better in my major. Therefore, requiring students to take science classes is waste of time for students.
