The question as to whether movies and television have negative effects on young people or not has been a constant debate in the field of education. In reality, a majority of students tends to argue that movies and television do not have any negative effects. However, I strongly believe that movies and television have negative effects on young people.

First of all, the movies and television use violent and stimulating contents to gain people¡¯s attention. In order to gain people¡¯s attention, they use inappropriate words and actions, because they get paid for their popularity. Young people imitate what they saw or use inappropriate words from the movies and television they watched. For example, when I was in high school, most of my classmates watched a hero movie that had violent contents. My classmates imitated the actions they had watched, which made many people get hurt. This example clearly shows that movies and television evoke young people to use inappropriate things that they have watched from movies and television.

Secondly, watching movies and television makes young people unhealthier and lazier. As young people start to watch movies and television, they will eventually refuse to go out and do healthy activities, because just sitting and watching is comfortable and addictive. For example, when I was in high school, my friend who was very active became overweight since he started watching dramas and movies and never did any exercise anymore. This example clearly shows that movies and television make young people unhealthier and lazier.
