The question as to whether movies and television have negative effects on young people or not has been a constant debate in the field of education. In reality, majority of students think movies and television have negative effects on young people. However, I believe that movies and television have positive effects on young people because of several reasons.


To begin with, by watching television and movies, young people can gain knowledge. A lot of knowledge from this can be connected to various aspects. These means can let them understand or learn more quickly about various subjects such as history. For example, my friend who is in high school, had difficulty in memorizing about historical figures and how their ancient people's life style was. As we were learning about 'Josean', my history teacher showed about 'Sado', which was a movie that told about how people lived in that period and how the prince had died. After watching this movie, she started to find other series of 'Josean' from TV dramas or TV shows. Even though she cannot learn totally about kings of 'Josean' dynasty, she was able to learn about dynasty's culture, wars, and life style. Therefore, from her experience, she was able to enhance her knowledge about one part of history, which was the part she had to study for an exam.


In addition, watching television and movies with parents, young people can get closer to their parents. Forming good relationship with their parents, children can also learn how to form good relationship with other people. For example, my friend Joy is a girl who has good relationship with almost all of the people in our school. She can do this because she always communicate with her family. She said her family members always talk about the story of the movies and share their opinions each other after the movie finished. This
