First and foremost, literature allows children to achieve higher levels of thinking skills. Learning literature makes children to think deeply and encourages them to share their thoughts about a story. For example, when I was grade 6, I struggled with comprehending reading English. However, as I attended afterschool literature class, I could improve my vocabulary, reading ability and language growth. So, I was able to understand English writing much better than before. This example clearly shows that learning literature gives higher thinking skills for children.
